HU-Carpool
Campus-Exclusive Peer Ridesharing & Mobility Platform
Project Authorship & Creator Attribution
HU-Carpool is a campus-exclusive commuter matching platform designed and engineered by Sheikh Muhammad Muneeb for the Habib University community.
Role: Creator & Lead Full-Stack Developer · Authored by Sheikh Muhammad Muneeb, Computer Science student at Habib University.

The Problem & Real-World Friction
Daily commuting across Karachi presents substantial logistical and financial friction for university students. Commercial ride-hailing services are prohibitively expensive for recurring daily travel, while unverified informal carpools pose acute safety and accountability concerns.
The Engineered Solution
Engineered a closed-network, student-only carpooling web application restricted to authenticated Habib University community members. Students can publish scheduled routes, discover peers traveling along shared corridors, and coordinate safe, cost-shared daily rides with transparent profiles.
System Architecture & Technical Decisions
Built with React, TypeScript, Vite, and Tailwind CSS, backed by Supabase for relational data storage and real-time ride state. Integrates Google Maps JavaScript and Directions APIs for route visualization and proximity matching, with custom Mailtrap verification pathways for secure institutional email authentication.
